Lippo Cikarang Welcomes ‘Connexion’ Executive Shuttle Bus for Jabodetabek

Lippo Cikarang, February 10, 2017 – Lippo Cikarang today hosted a visit from The Ministry of Transportation’s Greater Jakarta Transportaion Body (BPTJ), as part of the socialization strategies for ‘Jabodetabek Residential (JR) Connexion’ program, which will be introduced to serve residential areas throughout Jabodetabek starting Febr. 14, 2017.

In a press conference on Feb. 10 at Lippo Cikarang, Elly Adriani Sinaga, Head of BPTJ said JR Connexion is ready to be launched, in cooperation with selected bus operators and property developers. BPTJ will supervise the operation of the bus operators while the developers will assist in establishing bus shelter at each of residential areas on the outskirts of Jakarta such as Bogor, Tangerang, Depok and Bekasi.

Lippo Cikarang owns a bus feeder service called AO Shuttle, which connects passengers to the Trans Jakarta bus and transport them to Jakarta’s business centers. The point of departure of this feeder starts from Lippo Cikarang Citywalk and it will transport people to Blok M in South Jakarta via Cibarusah Raya, West Cikarang toll road, and vice-versa for the route in the opposite direction.

The shuttle bus operates from 05.00 pm to 21.00 pm. This service has been around since the beginning of Lippo Cikarang’s development for the residential area and the surrounding areas.

“We warmly welcome the JR Connexion program launched by the Government [which will ease] people’s life, especially those living in Lippo Cikarang area. With the improvement to BPTJ’s  standard of service, it will encourage people to use public transportation and will facilitate citizens in commutting.”

While Stanley Ang, a Director at LPCK said: “To anticipate the development in the Eastern Corridor, which grew rapidly –home to about 4.097 manufacturing factories including 3.000 multinational companies– as well as Bekasi population –with about 2.4 million population that grows at a rate of 2.4% per year– JR Connexion should be supported by means of adequate and professional transportation.

“Currently, there are about 448,000 people working daily in Lippo Cikarang area and it is home to  920 manufacturing companies  that spread around Lippo Cikarang’s industrial area. Lippo Cikarang is currently developing ‘Orange County’ area at 322 hectares of area, which will comprise of a mixed use property projects that promotes a ‘Globally Connected City’. It is a potential investment destination that will continue to grow and see increasing demand. ”

Stanley said: ”Orange County is set to become a hub in the Eastern Corridor of Jakarta that will cater the need of Investors’ residential area and lifestyle needs. It is estimated that its population will grow to about 72.288 residents population, of which 56.698 of them are those migrating to the area. Orange County is strategically located between the seven large industrial areas in Cikarang, West Java and supported by five upcoming key infrastructures, which is expected to serve as a catalyst for growth in the next five years. They are Patimban Deep Seaport, Kertajati International Airport, Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train, Light Rail Transport (LRT) and Monorail service, which will connect Orange County to seven industrial estates in Bekasi and its surrounding area.

At the same occasion, Eddy Triyanto, the Head of Division Support Service at PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk, said: “We are grateful for the Government’s support through the BPTJ. With the launching of JR Connexion plan, in near future, we expect to see a greater cooperation between BPTJ and the Government in Bekasi to improve public facilities, as well as other mode of transportation like commuter line (KRL) to Cikarang’, Manggarai’ and Kota’s station. The construction of the extension of LRT from Bekasi to Cikarang Centre is also expected to integrate well with the Automated People Mover service to Cikarang train station, Lippo Cikarang town, other industrial area and the center of Bekasi government municipality.

Lippo Cikarang is an urban development covering an area of ​​approximately 3,000 hectares with focus on industrial estate as its economic base. Lippo Cikarang has successfully built more than 14,000 housing units, which are now home to 47,000 people, of which 17,137 of them are expatriates. About 60% of these expatriates are from Japan, and the rest are from Korea, the western part of China and Southeast Asia. Meanwhile, there are about 448,000 people who work every day in the area, which is also home to 920 manufacturing companies that have facilities in Lippo Cikarang’s industrial parks.

Lippo Cikarang has teamed up with AO Shuttle for more than 13 years to provide executive shuttle bus transport to its population. The AO Shuttle been offering its fleets that offers the best services as well as operated by skilled staffers. The bus is equipped with amenities such as air conditioning, Audio / Video, Reclining Seat, free WiFi, EDC (Electronic Data Capture) machine, CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) and GPS (Global positioning System).

The Feb. 10 visit was attended by the head of BPTJ Elly Adriani Sinaga, Lippo Cikarang’s President Director Toto Bartholomeus, Director Stanley Ang and the Head of the Support-Service Division Eddy Triyanto. There was also Ketzia Laurentyna, a Director at PT Alfaomega (AO) Mitra Sehati.
