Lippo Cikarang industrial zone, applied a work safety system and environmental control procedure that can be compared to government standards, Managing Director of PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk. Mr Harun Permadi said.

Harun Permadi told reporters in Lippo Cikarang, he hopes that by applying the system it will create a working environment that is condusive where employees can work in a more healthy, safe and comfortable environment."To support and functionally apply this system we constantly organize activities in work safety and environment control," he said.

According to Harun Permadim with this new system put in place, it has garnered the attention of many multinational investors in building and investing in Lippo Cikarang's Industrial Zone.

Lippo Cikarang is spread over 3000 hectares that consists of residential, commercial and industrial zones. The industrial zone itself is spread over 1000 hectares and is divided into three areas; East Jakarta Industrial Park (EJIP), Delta Silicon, and Hyundai Bekasi International Industrial Estate (BIIE) with a grand total of 550 factories.

Lippo Cikarang will also participae with the Health and safety department of Bandung and Environment Control department of West Java in an event called " The effects of chemical usage towards the work force" which will be held for three days, starting 2-4 April in Lippo Cikarang.

Head of Health and Safety department Bandung, Mr. Ferry Benzon said in his presentation that every company or organization need to define health and safety system and that it needs to be committed to its own work program.

He said that management needs to shows its commitment in forming a health and safety organization, facilities and individuals who are responsible in handling such events.

The company needs to measure, observe and evaluate the safety and health of their employees by avoiding and improving the risk of such events from occuring in their workforce," Ferry Benzon said.(*)
