Saturday 15 March 2008, there was a different atmosphere compared to the usual. It was the day where residents of Lippo Cikarang came together to participate in various competition on the eve of Easter Celebration.

Celebrations can already be clearly seen from the entrance of Marketing Gallery ? Lippo Cikarang with many colourful balloons being placed all around the building. Once stepping inside, screams of happiness and excitement can be heard clearly. Kids and adults alike were greeted by costume-wearing adults dressed as a cow and leopard.

With great patience and a big smile on their face, they were ready and eager to welcome the pouring number of children into the Gallery. At times, the children can be seen amazed in looking at them and even felt the soft fur on the costume.

Politeness and readiness of the party officials were shown when ushering the guests into the registration area.

Before entering the stage area, many tables were set up at the front of the stage to accommodate the registration process for various activities. Re-registering was compulsory for everyone and they were given until 10am to do so. Guests were handled with care and professionalism.

There were four activities that were the main focus of the event consisting of: egg hunting, egg colouring, fishing, and cooking. Contestants were divided into several age groups; under 4 years old, 4-7 years old, and 8-12 years old. Other than the competitions, kids were also given the opportunity to showcase their musical ability.

In the midst of the festivities it can be seen that the celebration were not only for kids but also adults. Mothers could compete in showing their talent in cooking. However, there were no competition that was prepared for dads.

?In our hectic and busy lifestyle, it is very often that parents do not get a chance to meet and communicate enough with their children. By doing so, this allows parents to achieve that togetherness that they desire and also some bonding time with their family. Not only that, communication between residents in the community can be well kept,? General Manager of PT Lippo Cikarang Tbk Endang Sutrisna said.

Before the competition started, all contestants were gathered in the stage area to pump up their energy and to build up enthusiasm and momentum for the event. The party officials were very creative and active in gaining the children?s attention backed up by a band

Prior to the main event, there were numerous other competitions that were held like egg eating contest and egg peeling contest.

There was really fun in the midst of the Hot Lippo Cikarang?s sun. This can be proven from the spectacular turnout of 700 children. ? The appreciation for this event has been amazing with guests coming no only from Lippo Cikarang but also Bekasi and Karawang,? Endang said.

Residents, business units, and schools within the township participated in making the celebration a success. Public Relations of PT Lippo Cikarang Ria Sormin said this is not the first time that Lippo Cikarang organized such an event to celebrate a religious day. ?We constantly conduct events to celebrate certain national holidays,? she said.

For example, in February, we had a lion dance show in conjunction with Chinese New Year celebration.

Asked about the theme ?5000 eggs celebration?, Ria said this is due to the fact that the number of eggs scattered for the egg hunt is 5000 and also there is a charge of Rp5000 registration fee.
